We know that business strategy is primarily driven by external factors affecting change in an industry. Develop and present a Strategic Audit of Volkswagen and its related industry. The audit must contain:

1. A short overview of the industry, its growth to-date and key components of its current business model.

2. A full external analysis of the important strategic factors affecting the industry today. You will need to narrow these factors down to the 10 most important factors affecting change in the industry. These ultimately represent opportunities and threats for companies competing in this industry.

3. A description (and depiction) of the business model for your company.

4. A description of your organization, its history and its current unique competitive advantages in the industry. You will need to assess the top 10 strategic internal factors impacting your company. These will ultimately represent the strengths and weaknesses of your company as it relates to its industry.

5. A competitive analysis of 3 - 4 of the top / primary competitors, including a view of how they are positioning themselves in the market relative to the strategic factors driving change in the industry. Please provide at least two competitive positioning maps in this section.

6. A strategic factor analysis of your strategic factors. Please include IFAS, EFAS & SFAS tables.

7. A set of forward-looking strategic recommendations and goals for your company to effectively grow and compete in the future. These recommendations need to be directional in nature, must be driven by your analysis and should reflect a clear set of strategic growth goals for your company. You should provide a set of directional short and long-term goals as part of your recommendations.
