Case Study - Neeta's Unforgettable Weddings
Weddings are major events in most people's lives. Neeta's family has been organizing weddings for generations and she took over the business from her parents.
The business has grown considerably since the days of her parents and Neeta is struggling to cope. Nothing can be left to chance as disgruntled clients would quickly damage her reputation in the city. Unfortunately mistakes are starting to happen such as when Neeta forgot to contact the food supplier to confirm the food order; on that occasion Neeta needed to very quickly arrange for a major city hotel to provide backup meals and deliver them to the wedding in a fleet of taxis. It was an expensive mistake and she is keen to avoid any further mishaps.
Neeta likes to meet first with the bride and groom, grandmothers or other family members that are responsible for organizing the wedding and discuss options. They can choose various packages with different pricing depending on location, theme, music, meals, drinks, entertainment, photographers and many other options.
Once the booking has been accepted and the deposit paid Neeta schedules all the sub-contractors to prepare for the event. These may include individuals or other companies that supply lighting, sound system, décor and decorations, waiters, food, cooks, DJ and musicians, photographer, security staff, cleaning, transport, the supplier managing the gift list, and others including the religious or civil celebrant. These confirm their availability with Neeta by phone or email and she uses a large whiteboard to plan all activities. At the event, she takes the whiteboard with her to monitor everything, make sure every sub-contractor has arrived and is making their contribution to a successful wedding on time and quality as per the plan.
Neeta's staff have suggested she needs software to promote her business, help her accept bookings and cancellations, confirm options, manage the changes that people often make before the event, schedule the people and companies necessary for a successful event, make sure everything runs according to the schedule, and track all activities before, during and after the wedding.
