Getting and keeping yourself in a "strategic thinking" mindset means keeping your eyes and ears open to understanding what can impact an organization's goals and performance. Whether monitoring internal performance indicators or other internal observations, or monitoring what is happening in the external environment, organizational awareness of weaknesses, threats and opportunities will result in a more pro-active organization and better organizational outcomes.

This assignment should familiarize you with the sources of information and stakeholder considerations that should be considered on both an ongoing basis, as well as when a more formalized strategic planning process is implemented.

For this assignment, you will develop a "roadmap", or a "Project Plan" that you could follow to create a strategic plan for an organization. Important Note: You are NOT expected to do the Strategic Plan elements except to identify the steps you would take, the people you would involve, and identify the areas to be analyzed in the strategic planning process.
