1. Discuss how your daycare facilitates parent/family-teacher/caregiver interactions.

2. What do you do daily to develop a relationship with each child's parent in daycare?

3. Track your interactions in daycare with parents for one week, (At the end of each day note the contact and conversations that have taken place with each parent/guardian, or family member. Includeexamples of greetings, conversations, questions asked, information shared, etc.). Try to carryon as you usually would with the parents during this week. Try not to change your behaviorbecause you are tracking it.

4. At the end of the week, review your notes and comment on where you think your strengths are with parental/family communication and what you might do to improve communication with parents and families in your daycare program.

5. Based on your knowledge of the families in your daycare program, how might you encourage and support parental involvement?
