Question: Several of your employees at DeVry Hospital breach confidentiality and privacy when a senior politician was admitted to the hospital with a life threatening disease. It was determined that one of the employees notified the local news and shared the politician's health status for a monetary award. It was determined that the hospital policy was not clear when it comes to issues like this. As the director of HIM you have been asked to construct a policy and procedure to train staff.
