Issues in Education
Few would argue that the state of our education system has plenty of room for improvement. However, developing a plan to take schools in the right direction is easier said than done.
The first challenge lies in identifying the underlying problems that keep students from learning today. This challenge, in part, is due to the fact that the problems may change considerably depending on who is labeling them, whether it is students, parents, educators or lawmakers.
A number of issues and controversies now face educators and communities. Read over the topics below and decide which issue you would like to take a stance on and can provide an opportunity for you to pose solutions to the problem:

You will choose one topic and take a stance on the issue you choose.
Use at least 4 sources to help you support your thinking.
Remember to look at both sides of the issue before finalizing your stance.
