Applying The Four Frames And The Eight Stages To Create A Plan To Manage Organizational Change
• Choose an organization(APPLE)that has recently experienced a significant change. This may or may not be the organization where you are employed. The most important point is that you want to learn more about this organization and the effects of change. Choose wisely as you will develop a change management plan for your company.
• Applying the concepts presented in Week Two, "The Structural Frame and Building Team," other research, and other course materials, complete the following: 1) critique the organizational profile of your company, 2) outline your plan for creating urgency, 3) describe your approach to attracting a guiding team, and 4) using the information, decisions, and conclusions that you derived in your Week Two paper, describe the components of a change initiative that you would like to orchestrate.
• Develop a communication plan to introduce your change initiative including the style of presentation and the channels of communication. Prepare and present answers to questions you anticipate from employees regarding the change. Explain how you will maintain credibility with the employees and how you will create faith in the change effort.
• Develop a plan to empower your organization. Describe the political climate and sub-climates within your organization. Identify any disempowering symptoms within your organizational culture. Describe how you will change these practices, empower action within the pockets of politics, and create short-term wins that generate ongoing momentum for your change initiative.
• Illustrate the symbols that are used in your organization. Define their meaning and how they might obstruct your change initiative. Describe the methods you would use to overcome these obstructions to create new waves of urgency. Apply the concepts from the course textbooks, other academic sources, and your personal experience, to explain how you would embed the changed vision into the culture of your organization.
