Question: So, before we can plan a health promotion program, we first have to find out what our target participants actually need. We can plan the best program surrounding stress management, but if our participants are all relaxed and chill folks, then our program will be worthless to them. What do people NEED?

And how do we find that out? There are so many ways to assess need. Make sure you spend time with the Community Tool Box link provided.

Your task in to develop a plan for assessing the needs of your population. (You will NOT have to carry out the plan this quarter! You just have to make a great and realistic plan.) Answer the following:

• Who will you assess?

• How will you assess them?

• When will you assess them?

• What will you assess? (Be specific.)

• Where will they be assessed?

• Why are you assessing them? What do you want to find out?

This assignment is pretty deep. Make sure you are giving me enough information that I know how you PLAN to assess the needs of a population. Pick a sector (school staff, hospital staff, or worksite staff) and use the information from your text, and from the links provided to draft a plan to assess health needs. Probably 2 pages, single spaced.
