Question: Using Heather Cox Richardson (or someone else you admire) as a model, submit your own newsletter, or op-ed, on an issue that is of interest to you. You will have to summarize an important event, or series of events, that have taken place in recent years. Please focus on North Korea- Russia relations and the recent arms deal regarding the Russia-Ukraine war. What is crucial for this assignment is that you place your contemporary event(s) in historical context-- by referencing events that have taken place years, if not decades, earlier. You will need to do research to add this component to your essay, including identifying (and reading) suitable academic monographs that have been published in peer-reviewed journals or by academic presses such as JStor or Google Scholar.
