A forecast of 240 units in January, 320 in February and 240 in March has been approved for a family of seismic detectors that Terraquake Inc. manufactures at its Rocaport facility. Three products, A, B and C, make up this family. Over the past two years, the rates among the product mix for items A, B and C have been 35%, 40% and 25%, respectively. Management believes that the monthly forecast requirements are evenly distributed over the four weeks of each month. There are currently 10 units of product C on hand. The company manufactures product C in batches of 40, and the lead time is two weeks. A production quantity of 40 units from the previous period is scheduled to arrive at the beginning of week 1. For product C, the company has accepted orders for 25, 12, 8, 10, 2 and 3 during weeks 1 to 6 respectively. Develop a master production schedule for product C and calculate the amount of inventory on hand to promise.
