Goals: The goal of this assignment is to encourage you to think critically about the theories we have discussed so far in this course and provide you with a chance to orally defend a specific theory of this course.

Requirements:

Eligible theories for this assignment include:

1) Biology

2) Evolutionary Theory

3) Psychoanalysis

4) Behaviorism/Learning

5) Humanism

6) "None of these theories are defensible" (not a specific theory, but more of a position that they're all fatally flawed)

The presentation should be focused on making the case that your theory of personality is "the best" theory of those we have discussed. As should be apparent, the personality debate is quite controversial! Success on this assignment will require you to do the following:

1) Provide a brief overview of the theory you've been assigned (approximately 1 minute)

2) Develop a list of evidence that you feel supports the theory you have been assigned (approximately 3 minutes) - this section must use scientific evidence and/or logic-based arguments for your theory

3) Develop a list of counter-arguments against other theories (you must argue against at least 2 other theories; 2 minutes)

4) Develop a PowerPoint presentation with your arguments and counter-arguments and record yourself giving the presentation. This recording should be uploaded to Canvas via Studio.
