1- RECYCLING: Develop a hypothesis regarding the percent of customers who readily and properly recycle. Sit in a restaurant or similar location for 30-60 minutes where patrons are expected to bring their used dishes, food, napkins, silverware, etc to a central location where recycling is present for paper, plastic and non-recyclables. Count the number of people observed in total and count those who recycle and recycle correctly to determine compliance with suggested practice. Write up a lab report, including methodology, tabular presentation of results and whether your observations support your original hypothesis. Consider what appropriate next steps might be.

2- PREDICTING HIGH TEMPERATURES: Develop a hypothesis regarding the ability to predict daily high temperature at five, four, three, two and one day in advance. For 7 days in a row, go to weather.com and note the predicted high temperature. For example, on Monday you note the predicted high temperature for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. You do the same again on Tuesday, but extend the predictions out to Sunday, etc. Compare the predicted temperature for each of the five day forecasts to the actual high temperature recorded that day. Write up a lab report, including methodology, presentation of results and whether your observations support your original hypothesis. Consider what appropriate next steps might be.
