Your Group Tasks
Based on the feedback received in Assessment 1, your team is required to prepare a Project Management Plan. So, you are expected to conduct the following tasks:
1. Work Breakdown Structure (WBS): Using MS Project 2019, develop a detailed WBS for the project. Be sure to properly structure your tasks and sub-tasks to accurately reflect the complexity of a rea!-world data migration project. We expect 3-5 milestones and 20-25 tasks.
2. Critical Path Analysis: Once your WBS is complete, use the tool's functionality (in MS Project 2019) to identify and highlight the project's critical path. This should show the sequence of tasks that directly impact the project's duration.
3. Resource Planning and Leveling: Identify the resources (human, material, and technological) necessary for each task in your WBS. Then, apply resource levelling to effectively distribute the workload and mitigate resource conflicts or over-allocations.
4. Cost Budgeting and Change: Estimate the costs associated with each task in your project, taking into account the resources assigned to it. Then, simulate a scenario where cnanges are required - for example, a task takes longer than expected, or a particular resource becomes more expensive. Snow how these changes would be reflected in MS Project and how they impact the overall project budget.
5. Allocate Material and Cost Resources: Assign appropriate material and cost resources to each task, taking into account the specific needs of a data migration project. These might include hardware, software, cloud service subscriptions, or specialist consulting services.
1. A 6-minute video presentation to covering the following items:
• Provide an overview of your project plan, explaining the rationale behind key decisions and strategies.
• How did you manage the project costs including a time-phased view of the project cost?
• How did you manage the engagemenl of your key stakeholders?
• Discuss any challenges encountered and how your group addressed them.
• Summarise any learning points or insights gained from the experience individually and as a group.
