Background

The purpose of this assignment is to provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your understanding the concepts that we have discussed in the unit to date, as covered in Weeks 1 to 8 of the classes, and up to Chapter 12 of the textbook. You will apply these concepts to the to develop a detailed marketing strategy for the introduction (or launch) of a new product or service into the Australian market.

Assessment 3 Group Assessment

You are required to develop a detailed marketing strategy for the introduction (or launch) of a new product or service into the Australian market, for the company which will be chosen by your group from one of the following industries; Australian Retail, Australian Fashion or Australian Online B2C marketing.

Your marketing plan must include detailed analyses of customers and competitors as well as the general marketing environment in addition to a comprehensive positioning strategy.

1. Choose a company from one of the following industries; Australian Retail, Australian Fashion or Australian Online B2C marketing.

2. Identifying, describing and implementing market segmentation

3. Organisational resources and sustainable Competitive advantage

4. Planning for New products, New product development process

5. Competing through new marketing mix

6. Your essay must include at least 5-7 current peer reviewed (scholarly) journal articles in addition to any textbook, magazine, website and other references.

You may consider the following sample format in preparing you report:

Group assignment instructions:
1. Each group will consist of a maximum of four (4) students.
2. Problems with inactive group members who do not respond to reasonable work arrangements should be discussed with the lecturer well before the due date of the assignment.
3. ONE student in the group should submit the final version by the due date ensuring they record the student name and student number of each person in the group.

Word limit:
Overall 2,000 words with 10% tolerance.

Presentation
Assignments must be typed. It is perfectly fine to manually draw in the diagrams, by leaving spaces in your typing or by adding them as Appendixes. Diagrams can be time consuming and difficult to draw on the computer. Scan your final manual version and upload to the Assignment site. Make sure you keep a copy. In general, you should not copy and paste diagrams from the internet. If you do, you must acknowledge your sources
