Congratulations you have completed your client task requirements of working in a small fast team to prepare a project proposal, project report and participate in several presentations.
To finalise your job requirements as a consultant, we ask that you reflect on your own intercultural effectiveness, apply the theories, concepts, and tools you have learnt from this course, and develop an action plan to demonstrates how you can professionally develop yourself and improve your intercultural effectiveness moving forward.
We are very impressed with your work on our client (RMIT University) so far, and we would like to invite you to submit an expression of interest (EOI) for one of our permanent positions here at Social People Consulting. As part of the EOI process you are required to prepare and present one response to a selected interview question from the job positions key selection criteria.

Intercultural effectiveness developmental plan
In this task we want you to prepare and present an individual written report that addresses the following key sections:
Identifying one weakness in your intercultural interactions. This is not limited to the experience of this course.
Analysing the weakness through a self-reflection and interpretation.
Develop a detailed and actionable plan addressing your identified weakness and how you intend to improve your inter-cultural effectiveness.
Response to interview question applying the STAR Technique.
Minimum of 5 academic references
Total assignment word count: 1,000 for the reflection plus 200 for the interview question
We have put together a detailed outline of how we would like to receive your written developmental plan. Your submission is to be written as an essay not in marked sections with exception to Section 4. Section 4 is to be added as an independent section after the developmental plan.
(Make sure to use a lot of course content and theories throughout)
Section 1: Introduction
Identify one area of weakness you have when interacting with people from different cultures or when working in a multicultural environment.
Provide background information and specific evidence to demonstrate weakness based on your experiences of interacting with people from different cultures.
Section 2: Reflection & Interpretation (analysing the weakness)
Analyse the weakness using theories or concepts covered by this course.
Identify the cause of this weakness and relate the weakness to the theories, concepts and tools based on the contents of this course.
Remember to demonstrate theory application in the essay.
Section 3: Action plan
Based on the theories, concepts or tools you have identified in section two, develop a detailed, actionable plan to overcome this identified weakness and improve your inter-cultural effectiveness at universities and in the workplace in the future.
Your action plan should be related to the causes of the weakness you have identified.
Section 4: STAR Response | Job Interview question (200 words)
Throughout this project you have demonstrated your work-related skills such as investigation, presentation, teamwork, leadership, and investigation skills. You have impressed us so far by showing us how you have worked with culturally diverse team members.
Moving forward we would like to see your interview skills and look at how you would craft a response to a situation related interview question.
You are required to read the below interview questions and choose one question to craft a written response too.
When responding to your chosen interview question you are required to apply the STAR technique. Further learning resources on the STAR technique can be located under Learning Resources within the assessment interactive.
Your response should be effective and concise. Your response doesn't need to be related to any information within Section 1, 2, 3.
In your written report please add Section 4: Star Response Job Interview question as an in independent section outside of your written essay. Please indicate the question you have chosen to respond too.
