You need to develop a design for an online bookshop website, for a Melbourne-based bookstore called New Mystery Books. The brief is to develop a set of wireframes to support a new site, as the shop has not had a web presence before. The specific bookshop you are aiming to build a site for specialises in fiction, but particularly mystery (detective fiction), fantasy novels, science-fiction and feminist literature. They have a strong following and are well-known locally in Melbourne for their eclectic and unusual stock even in these categories. They have sold audio books and print books, but the new site will support ebook purchases: something they haven't been able to do before.
We have information on who will be the primary users of the site, and they are provided in personas below. These personas bring together the findings of more complex research, but you're being asked to develop the wireframes before having access to the whole data. There is a summary of the data provided here
The new area needs the following wireframe designs:
1) A home page for the new area of the bookshop website, focussing on communicating what books and genres are available.
2) A set of pages addressing the following points, using a standard wireframe and navigation:
a. An overview of the site, and how to use it
b. Contact details, online and phone
c. Three or more pages that provide overviews of each of the key book genres available on the site.
These last three pages will describe any logos and terminology used on the site
3) A search page for finding books. This should provide:
a. Finding books by title, author, intended audience (e.g. if adult or children's fiction) and when the book was published
b. Finding books by genre - note that there are sub-categories in each of the genres above, and your design should accommodate for those being added later.
c. Finding books on availability: as electronic book, electronic audio book, print book for immediate delivery, or print book for delivery within a month.
4) A search result page for the results of the search engine
a. This page will present a brief overview of each book, including an image of it
b. ...indications to confirm it meets the user's needs, e.g. overview of the book, genre, etc.
c. ...brief pricing and availability details (e.g. print book, ebook etc - see 3c above)
