ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION USAGE POLICY

As with other electronic communication channels, technology often advances faster than the organization's ability to develop adequate procedures for using it. Using your own work experience and information obtained from online research, develop a company policy for your employer (use your imagination) that applies to acceptable use of email, instant messaging, and social media. Address such issues as message security, company monitoring of messages, appropriate message content, privacy, consequences for using company equipment to send harassing messages, position on the use of company system for sending personal email messages, use of personal social media (Twitter, Facebook, etc.), use of company social media, etc. Be sure to provide a detailed explanation of acceptable email, social media, and instant messaging usage that employees can follow consistently. Prepare an email (hint, hint: subject line!) as the first page of your assignment submission in which you'd send your policy as an attachment to your manager/employer.
