Assignment - Develop a Change Management Strategy and Critical Path
Objective of this Assignment: Develop a change management strategy that applies the concepts and tools learned relating to organizational behaviour and engaging workplace teams. Establish a critical path for the change strategy, ensuring that outcomes can be achieved while maintaining team buy in.
Step 1:
For this assignment, read the following scenario:
After working for your company, Gold-diggers Mining Corp. for nearly 5 years, you discover that your team is only interested in their own needs, desires and wants with little regard for the success of their peers, the values and culture of the company or the successful progression of the firm in support of sustainability. You approach the President of the company with your concerns and although he understands your perspectives, he is less than concerned because he is making lots of money. You leave his office frustrated because your personal values are not in-line with what seems to be a top-down problem. Nonetheless, you are not one to give up and begin to explore what can be done to turn things around.
As the senior leader in charge of organizational development, behaviour and culture you embark on a planning process to change the attitudes, norms and organizational behaviour of the company from its current state to one that embodies a culture of productivity, safety, support for one another and personal growth. Your task is clear but is an uphill battle because the change will have to start with the President. Your plan must be succinct, well defined and actionable as well as timely, because you fear burn-out of the few positive people left in the organization including yourself. You will be presenting your plan to the President first, which carries some risks so you know that you have to develop something that builds buy-in from the start.
Step 2:
Start to finish change management strategy including:
- How the plan will build and maintain organizational culture
- How you will structure the plan and organization to achieve results
- How the plan will motivate employees and measure success
- How you will steward the plan as the senior staff member in charge of its design and implementation
- Include a timeline w goals and outcomes for each stage of the plan
