Components of the Review

1) An Introduction to the organisation and the element of the organisation that you intend examining. Why you have selected the particular element you are investigating
2) A PESTEL or equivalent analysis for the organisation
3) A stakeholder analysis for the organisation (identify different groups & how they might have to be managed as part of change/ strategy development.
4) A Research/ background document which reviews the current organisation and the sector in which it operates
a) Organisation Structure
b) Its own Vision/ Goals
c) Its own IT structure and approach to IT (estimate)
5) An approximate overview of current amount of resources devoted to IT - resources available (estimate people, facilities, equipment, budget)
6) A partial IT risk analysis for the organisation which identifies one risk from each of three forms of risk discussed in class [Programme/Project Risk; Operations/ Protect Value Risk, Value Gain/ Opportunity Risk].

Risk Review
The organisation is reviewing itself. You are requested to prepare a note for the CEO outlining
(i) Giving an explanation for one of the three key risk issues identified for the organisation/ element of the organisation you are examining.
(ii) Whether this risk it currently being managed well and what metrics/ measures help tell this. Also, any actions which could be suggested to improve management of this risk.
OR
Develop a Business Model Canvas (instead of Risk Review)

Strategic Recommendations
Identify one strategic recommendation which you would make for the unit/ organisation. Identify where this recommendation would fit in a typical balanced scorecard approach. Identify KPIs/ actions/ metrics which would support implementation of this recommendation.

Report

The final report would be expected to be in the range of 15-25 pages of text plus diagrams, references, indexes, appendices. Work must be original. A range of references are expected to be used in compiling the report.
