Using the information you obtained in Assignment with Mountain Equipment Co-Op (MEC), recommend a new product line to launch and develop a brief marketing plan for this new product line that MEC could launch in its stores.

1. Describe the new product line (must be new) and the category the product will fit in to.

2. Identify and describe the target market (using the segmentation variables) for this new product and the need it satisfies.

3. Describe two (2) competitors for the new products that MEC will introduce and identify how MEC's new products will be different/better.

4. Prepare a brief marketing program as to how MEC might launch this new product line. Your plan must include all elements of the marketing mix- an elaborate product, price, distribution and communication strategy (promotion mix).

I am going to forward payment now but I just have one question regarding the topic of the assignment. Before proceeding, can you please clarify which product the tutor will chose? Question 1: Describe the new product line (must be new) and the category the product will fit in to? Payment has just been forwarded. Please kindly forward the 2-3 topic choices as discussed in a previous email. bicycles- mountain terrain, fitness adventure sports equipment. Please clarify what the topics are? Is it mountain terrain bicycles or fitness adventure sports equipment? If so what is fitness adventure sports equipment? I prefer sports/mountain bicycles which have special features of high gears along with special sports equipment. Are these bikes different from the ones they currently carry? As they already have various types of mountain, road, touring, urban and commuting bikes. skates, high nutrition protein bars n protein shakes, racing cars I am suggesting below options now: 1) Racing cars 2) Nutrition high packed protein shakes, supplements & other fitness stuff.
