Units 6-7 have concentrated on the nature, identification, and assessment of objective beauty.

For this short writing assignment, develop and apply Biblical perspective on how to locate and assess beauty (that is ... how to identify, evaluate and guard objective beauty that is sourced in God.)

Certainly, this essay will focus on some of the salient arguments presented by both Groothuis (Truth Decay), Allberry (Connected), and DeYoung (Glittering Vices). Be sure to call on the video presentations by Dr. Bekke and Dr. Groothuis found in UNITS 4-5.

Scripture declares that God has "made everything beautiful in its time" (Ecclesiastes 3:11). The goal of the essay is to convince the reader that true beautyis determinedby what God determines to be true and good. Elaborate on what this means and provide at least one example of the kind of beauty being discussed. Use scripture, art, cinema, music, literature as sources for this.

• Double-spaced. 12 point Times New Roman font. If multiple pages, insert page numbers at the bottom.

• Be certain to include title the essay Op Ed 3.Beauty - Where To Find It And How To Know It When We See It.

1. Provide a short introduction that includes this question and how you intend to answer it.

2. Provide a good flow to the paragraphs - indent a new section, provide sequential and orderly thought.

3. Provide a short summary or conclusion.

4. Section headings such at Introduction - Main Body - Conclusion.

• 550-750 words. Ideal word count is 650.

• Use a consistent format - Turabian, ALA, et. al. Include references either inline or as footnotes.
