A wooden cylinder of length 2.0m and cross section 78cm^2 is suspended in vertical positionwith a string of length 2.5m. The density of the wood is 800kg/m^3. The fundamental frequency of the string is measured to be 24 Hz

a) Find the linear density of the string

b) The cylinder is immerse in water on a distance x. As a result the frequency at which the string vibrates reduces to 12Hz. Find the value of x

c) At what value for x the string will cease to vibrate?
