One way to determine the velocity or acceleration of a moving object is to time the motion of the object, with a stopwatch or electronic timer, over measured distances along its path. The distance traveled divided by the time taken is the average speed (or velocity if it is moving is a straight line). Acceleration can then be calculated from the difference in the velocities calculated for two different places along the object's path divided by the time interval between these two places.
Another method of determining velocity or acceleration is to attach ticker-tape to the moving object. How do you apply the above concept, mentioned in the previous paragraph to find velocity and acceleration of a moving object?
a) What apparatus you need to perform this experiment.
b) Explain the theory, readings and the graph to be drawn to find g.
c) Explain the procedure of the experiment.
d) What steps have to be taken to minimize the errors of the experiment?
