Question - Instructions: the following assignments include determining the trucking charges associated with each shipment using the conversions, tables and CIFFA - Logistics Canada Trucking Chart found in Appendices "A", "B" and "C". The accepted freight density ratio for trucking is 10 lb/ft3. Show all steps and calculations.

Determine the actual weight, volume weight and chargeable weight (freight charge) of the shipment in following cases:

1. 120 cartons of books to be delivered to Hamilton, Ontario from terminal Toronto. Totals: 700 ft3, 700lb.

2. You have a truck shipment that weighs 880 lb and measures 75 ft3. You are being charged CAD $5.00/100 lb. For what weight will you be charged and what will the trucking charges be?

3. Your customer is located in Sarnia and has 10 skids of bottled water, being delivered to terminal Toronto. Each skid weighs 1,000 lb and has dimensions of 58 in x 50 in x 70 in each.

4. Your customer is located in Kingston and requires a delivery of 5 boxes of electronic devices delivered to terminal Toronto. Each box weighs 20 lb, dimensions of 12 cm x 10 cm x 5 cm.

5. Your customer has 9 skids of paper for delivery to terminal Toronto to Barrie. Each skid weighs 1,200 lb and the dimensions of the skids are 38 in x 22 in x 58 in each. Should you consider weight break? If yes, what would be the applicable charges?
