Q1) In Rivendell Memorial Hospital time to complete surgery in routine tubal ligation without complications is normally distributed with mean of 30 minutes and standard deviation of 8 minutes. Next procedure has been scheduled in same operating room 60 minutes after starting of a tubal ligation procedure.

Required:

Allowing 20 minutes to vacate and make operating room between procedures, determine the probability that next procedure will have to be delayed?

Q2) Chlorine concentration in municipal water supply is  uniformly distributed random variable which ranges between 0.74 ppm and 0.98 ppm.

Requirement 1:

Find out the following:

a) Mean chlorine concentration

b) Standard deviation

c) Probability that chlorine concentration will exceed 0.80 ppm

3) Passengers using New York's MetroCard system should sdsfwipe the card at rate between 10 and 40 inches per second, or else card should be re-swiped through card reader. Research illustrates that actual swipe rates by subway riders are uniformly distributed between 5 and 50 inches per second.

Requirement 1:

Find out the following:

a) Mean swipe rate

b) Standard deviation of the swipe rate

c) 1st quartile

d) 3rd quartile

Requirement2:
