Purpose of the Homework
In this homework, you will practice ways to improve your decision-making and problem-solving skillset for better job performance.
Instructions
After reviewing your responses to the decision-making and problem-solving skillset assessments (MindTool Questionnaires), your bias reflection homework, readings, and class discussions create a plan for getting a decision-making/problem-solving fit. Start by addressing these steps:
Question 1) Determine your personal skills that are strong and weak.
Question 2) Compare them with what you understand to be the expectation of future employers.
Question 3) Highlight the reasons for selecting these skills.
Question 4) What about these skills do you feel is important to change or enhance?
Question 5) Using the class material for this week, list specific ways you could improve the skills. Be sure to find ways to practice the skills. Feel free to use workplace examples or community group experiences. For instance, are you on a community board, involved in the PTA, or part of a religious group? Do you participate in solving problems or making decisions? If so, write how you might try something different the next time you solve a problem or make a decision in a group.
Question 6) Provide at least four ways to improve your skills (more are always welcome).
