Determine whether each is an observational study or an experiment.

(a) Record how many women are admitted to certain graduate programs.

(b) Some children with a specific disorder are given a special diet while others are not. The progression of the disorder is recorded for both groups.

(c) Speed limit signs with larger print were changed in some areas of a large metropolitan area and kept the same in other areas. The behavior of motorists was observed.

(d) The relationship between exercise and cognitive abilities is investigated. 5000 randomly selected individuals were asked about their exercise habits and they were given a text to measure their cognitive ability.

(e) Students are polled as they leave a speech about the political candidates they prefer.
