Each situation is different, so it is very difficult to determine what type of leadership style is appropriate depending on the circumstances. But if I had to choose between fix or flexible leadership style it is definitely necessary to adopt a flexible way to adapt to the changes of situations and contingencies. In a society full of changes you have to adapt otherwise the leader becomes obsolete, you have to include the team in making decisions to ensure inclusion and achieve common goals and obviously as a leader it is necessary to reflect on the impact that is being achieved in the team to be able to make changes that are positive for the individual and organizational growth. You also have to listen to the feedback from both staff and stakeholders in general to know that you are on the right path to success as a leader.

Depending on the type of leader the person is, fixed or flexible will meet needs in any given situation. I really like this topic because I experienced both sides. But leaders who are fixed know how to get the job done whether they are liked or not. Being a flexible leader is always good because the employees will be more productive in what is being asked. According to Bywater (2012), "To lead most effectively, you need to modify your management style to accommodate the needs of each team member", WJM Associates. The reason for this is that people learn and do things differently and some may be a little faster than others. Also, flexible leaders guide their team to be the best and ask questions. To be a fixed leader does not happen overnight, they have an open mind at first before having a leadership position. According to Quah (2018), " But once they've got hold of the skillset well enough to get by, complacency by way of overconfidence transfixes them into a fixed mindset" (Business Woman Media). This can lead to having an ego to overpower the employee and sometimes there is not turning back. Being flexible is the way to be and a better outcome will be had. Where I work my supervisor stated, "he does not micromanage", and to me that's a good supervisor or anyone who is in a leadership position.
