A synchronous generator rated 1350 MVA at 0.9 pf, 22.5-kV, Xs=11.6% is connected to a power system through a 1500 MVA, 7.9% 24-kV/230-kV generator step up transformer. The power is generated into a 230-kV system.

a) What is the impedance of the generator on the 24-kV generator step up transformer base?

b) Power system analysis programs usually is 100 MVA as a system base. What is the impedance of the generator and the transformer on this 100 MVA base at the transmission voltage level?
