Bioinformatics Assignment -
You should consider that you are a bioinformatician working with a research group who have recently obtained this sequence as part of a genome sequencing project. It is your job to analyse the sequence and to provide your research colleagues with a report that will allow them to investigate the sequence and the protein it encodes.
You should organise your answer into two parts:
a. Relevant details of the longest open reading frame, including the amino acid sequence of the protein encoded the molecular mass and isoelectric point of the protein and any information as to whether the protein is likely to be expressed in the original organisms.
b. A detailed report into the likely function of the protein.
Total length limit - 10 pages of A4, including diagrams and selected output from bioinformatics programs.
DOCUMENT IN STYLE OF COARSEWORK-
Question: Using bioinformatic tools determine the most likely three-dimensional structure of the large subunit (AmoA) of alkene monooxygenase from Rhodococcus corallinus B-276. Detail which programs and databases were used and how any problems encountered were overcome.
