A bullet of mass 180 gram is fired horizontally from a gun with a velocity of 675 meter per second into a wooden block of mass 6.0 kilogram sitting on a horizontal table. If the bullet embeds itself into the block,

a) Determine the velocity of the block after being hit by bullet.

b) In the above problem, the coefficient of kinetic friction between the block and the table is 0.55. Determine how far along the table will the block slide before coming to rest?
