Multi-strand steel tendons are used to manufacture prestressed hollow core concrete floor slabs. The form bed for the slabs is 125 m long. The tendons have a yield strength of 1860 MPa and a cross sectional area of 98.7 mm2. A hydraulic jack is used to prestress the tendons to 50% of their yield strength prior to placing the concrete. Determine the total stretch of the prestressing tendons. Assume E = 200000 MPa.
