If the air from the end of the pipe line of given Problem is delivered through 50 ft of I-in. hose to a rock drill that requires 140 cfm of air, determine the pressure at the drill.

Problem

A 3-in . pipe with screwed fittings is used tp transmit 1,000 cfm of free air at an initial pressure of a100-psi gauge pressure. The pipeline includes these itmes:

900ft of pipe

Three gate valves

Eight standard on-run tees

Six standard ells

Determine the total loss of pressure in the pipeline.
