a) Evaluate the maximum possible efficiency. Actual efficiencies of less than 3percent can be achieved.

b) Determine the thermal efficiency of the system based on the ammonia Rankine system and the data provided in the lecture slide for a 100 MW plant. Assume the pump inlet is saturated liquid and the turbine inlet is saturated vapor. Also assume the turbine is reversible and negligible pressure drop in the condenser and evaporator.
