Two tanks, A and B, are separated by an infinitely thin partition. Tank A contains 0.1 kg of water at 0.5 MPa and 100 °C while tank B contains 0.2 kg of water at 300 °C and 1.6 MPa. The partition is removed and the water is allowed to mix until the system is in equilibrium. If the final pressure is 1.0 MPa, determine (a) the temperature (°C) at the final state and (b) the heat transfer (kJ) during this process.
