Problem- A galvanic cell is constructed from the two half-cells, (Zn2+ | Zn) and (In3+ | In), with the electrolytes Zn(NO3)2 and In(NO3)3 in the two half-cells both being 1.00M in concentration. At 25C, this cell gives a voltage of 0.424V, and it is observed that In metal is plating out on the In electrode as time passes. Determine the standard reduction potential for the (In3+ | In) half- cell. For the (Zn2+ | Zn) half cell Eo= -0.762V.

1) -0.338V

2) 0.338V

3) -1.186V

4) 1.186V

5) None of these
