An overhead line with an inductance of 1.33 mH/km and capacitance of 8.34 nF/km is connected to an underground cable with an inductance of 0.266 mH/km and capacitance of 166 nF/km.

a. Determine the speed of the wave travelling on the line and cable.
b. Determine the distance can the wave travel on the line and cable at 2 μs.
c. A travelling wave is approaching to the connection point with a voltage of
Ui = "411" kV. At the connection point, determine the voltages and currents after the first reflection and refraction.
For the voltage at the connection point not to exceed 20 % of the incident wave (20% Ui); a resistor will be connected to the joint. Determine the resistance of the resistor connected in parallel to the connection point.
