1. Determine the resultant of the force system shown in below figure using graphical method

2. A beam hinged at A is supported in a horizontal position by a rope passing over a pulley arrangement as shown in fig 1. The free end of the rope supports a load of 1500 N. The weight of the beam is 2 kN and that of pulley hinged at B is 400 N. Determine the tension in the rope, assuming the pulleys to be frictionless, and the reaction at A.

Rope is tied to the cable at A and pulled in order to center the automobile over its intended position. The angle between the cable AB and the vertical is 40o, While the angle between the rope and the horizontal is 30o. What is the tension in the rope AC?
