The block diagram of the control of an electric heating system. The heater is driven from a voltage-controlled power supply, the voltage V1 being derived from a potientiometer. The output temperature, θO, is subject to disturbances, θD, because of changes in the ambient temperature. It is proposed to apply 'disturbance feedback control' to the system by the inclusion of a transducer that measures the external temperature and feeds a signal back to the input via a proportional controller of gain H.
Determine the required value of H to eliminate the effect of the disturbance.
A (0-10A) range ammeter has an internal resistance of 0.0002Ohms. It is necessary to use this meter for measuring a currentwhich is likely to be in the range of (0-70A) Amperes. Design aresistance circuit to accomplish the above measurement.
A 150 MVA, 24 kV, 125% three-phase synchronous generator supplies a large network. The network voltage is 27 kV. The generator operates with an induced voltage, which is twice the rated line-to-neutral voltage.
Consider a PCM-TDM system in which 24 signals are to be processed. Each signal has a baseband bandwidth of 3 KHz. The sampling rate has to be 33.3% higher than the theoretical minimum, and 8 bits are to be used.
For a short transmission line having a series impedance Z=R+jXL, write the relationships between the sending-end and the receiving-end voltages and currents. Assuming a line with R=0, XL=20 ohm feeding a 1MW load at 0.95 power factor
A 60 kVA, three-phase, wye-connected, 440 V, 60 Hz synchronous generator has a resistance of 0.15ohm and a synchronous reactance of 3.5ohm per phase. At rated load and unity power factor, calculate the percent voltage regulation.
A unipolar 16 bit ADC measures 0-10 volts full scale. a) What is the minimum resolvable voltage b) What is the percent quantization error c) What is the percent quantization error if a 1 volt max signal is input
A jogger accelerates from rest to 3.75 m/s in 3.58 s. A car accelerates from 16.7 to 31.6 m/s also in 3.58 s. (a) Find the magnitude of the acceleration of the jogger. (b) Determine the magnitude of the acceleration of the car.
if the equation for a mesh current is done and the current comes out negative, with the assumed clockwise direction. does that mean that the current is actually going in the opposite direction
A maintenance firm has gathered the following information regarding the failure mechanisms for air conditioning systems:The units without evidence of gas leaks or electrical failure showed other types of failure. If this is a representative sample o..
A number of SCRs, each with a rating of 2000V and 50A are to beused in series-parallel combination in a circuit to handle 11KV and400A. For a derating factor of 0.15, calulate the number of SCRs in series and parallel units.
How is the problem-solving process different when programming in assembly language versus programming in ladder logic?
a curemt of 1600a exists in a recatangular 0.4 by 16cm bus bar. the current is due to free electrons moving through
