Note: Use f'c = 4,000 psi and fy = 60,000 psi.

A column has a rectangular cross section with 14×14 inch dimensions. The steel is made up of 4#10 bars and #4 ties.

(a) Compute Mn and Pn for x =10, 8, 6, 4 as well as for the balanced condition. Also include in your calculations the maximum Pn value. Summarize the values that you computed in tabular form and also list the eccentricity values.

(b) Draw the interaction diagram based on results in Part (a)

(c) If shear is not critical, determine the spacing for the #4 ties.
