Ethics, morality, and law are all important definitions to learn when going into the industry of technology. Ethics and morals both determine the principle that governs a person's behavior and are the prevailing standards of people. The difference between these three terms are challenging to figure out as all three of them have definitions that are pretty similar to one another. A scholarly article from the Ohio Northern University Law divulges into these terms and discusses both their similarities and differences. The article claims that the difference between morality and law is linked to the idea of their expression, "First, the main difference between law and morality appears in the mode of expression.

Morality is expressed through the conduct of the individual and his relationship with others, whereas the law applies to the external behavior of individuals in their relation to one another as citizens". The author explains that morals are how one conducts themselves among their peers and/or individuals while the law applies to external behavior. The difference between ethics and morality has more to do with terminology rather than expression, "Second, although ethics and morality are often used interchangeably, the difference between them, as we will examine further, is more than a matter of terminology, as the terms clarify the relationship of individual values to those within the social and legal order".

The two terms, ethics and morality, both mean personal values to those within the societal order. Integrity plays a role in the mix with these three terms because integrity is the meaning of having strong principles that one refuses to change, which is similar to the meaning of ethics and morality. For example, the president would be an example of someone with high integrity due to them being professional and admired enough to be voted into office.

The above post discusses the subjects of morals, ethics, and the law, pointing out the differences; it also talks about how does integrity (i.e., acting in a consistent manner according to one's principles) play a role in that mix. Now please leave some feedback to the post.
