Water flows steadily through a horizontal nozzle. The nozzle inlet diameter is 6 in. At the nozzle outlet, where the pressure is atmospheric, the diameter is 2 in. Determine the pressure head at the nozzle inlet to produce a water jet velocity of 40 ft/s. Neglect the friction loss and assume incompressible flow.
