The investigators on scene at the apparent suicide will collect the weapon, the letter and any possible leads from the scene. For the traces of blood and skin under the victim's nails will be sent to the Biology section and the trace of evidence section of the crime lab to scan for possible biological developments that could match a possible assailant to rule out murder (Denmark, & Mount, 2010).

The faint fingerprints found along the weapon will be sent to the Fingerprint scanning and database section of the crime lab (Denmark, & Mount, 2010). The weapon itself, after all sufficient fingerprints are collected, will be transferred to the ballistics lab and firearm section of the crime lab to verify ownership of the weapon and also collect any other forms of biological substances that may be found on the weapon (Denmark, & Mount, 2010).

The note/letter that was found from the scene that could have been written by the victim will also be sent to fingerprint section, the trace of evidence section, and the biology section for voiding or aiding the possibility of a murder or actual suicide (Denmark, & Mount, 2010).

After arriving at the scene of the attack, the first thing that I will do is scan the area for any possible threats at the same time prepare personal protective equipment (PPE) to assess the victim for life possible life-threatening wounds (Fish, Stout & Wallace, 2011).

The next thing that will need to be done after the victim is stable, I will then secure the scene and advise all witnesses to vacate to a safe location for questioning (Fish, Stout & Wallace, 2011). I will then gather the weapon and mark immediate evidence that could be destroyed when other personnel arrive.

After the immediate evidence has been marked for collection, I will then gather as much intel as possible from the victim such as their name, if they knew the suspect and other pertinent information if they are stable enough to recollect the event. After questioning the victim, I will then gather intel from the onlooking witnesses to get different accounts from the witness who were in the immediate area for leads on the assailant and possibly assist the incoming personnel with reinventing the scene for documentation.
