A straight duct with a radius of 40 cm contains a fan that is operating at steady state. The fan draws air from the left at 20 m3/min, 95 kPa, 20 C and it exits the duct at 115 kPa, 40 C. Heat transfer occurs from the duct to the surroundings at a rate of 2 kW. Determine the power input to the fan, the exit volume flow rate, and the inlet and exit velocities. Assume that air behaves as an ideal gas with constant specific heats Cp = 1.004 kJ/(kgK) and Cv = 0.717 kJ/(kgK). Neglect changes in potential and kinetic energy.
