The following test results were obtained for a 20 kVA, 50 Hz, 2400/240 V distribution transformer: Open-circuit test (LV): 240 V, 1.066 A, 126.6 W
Short-circuit test (HV): 57.5 V, 8.34 A, 284 W
(a) When the transformer is operated as a stepdown transformer with the output voltage equal to 240 V, supplying a load at unity power factor, determine the maximum efficiency and the unity power factor load at which it occurs.
(b) Determine the power-factor of the rated load, supplied at 240 V, such that the terminal voltage observed on reducing the load to zero is still 240 V.
A system or component is imaginary (critically ) stable if at least one real part of the roots of the characteristic equation is equal to zero. Determine the stability of the following system and design the circuit.
A number of SCRs, each with a rating of 2000V and 50A are to beused in series-parallel combination in a circuit to handle 11KV and400A. For a derating factor of 0.15, calulate the number of SCRs in series and parallel units.
With reference to the triangular speed profile of Figure P18.4, determine the trapezoidal speed profile required to move a load 0.5 m in 3 s.
Without actually computing the output noise power for flow graph #2, you should be able to determine which system has the largest total noise power at the output. Give a brief explanation of your answer.
An amplifier has a sinusoidal output signal and is delivering 100 W to a 50- load resistor. What output resistance is required if the amplifier is to dissipate no more than 2 W in its own output resistance?
Assume you buy a 1 kOhm resistor with +/- 20% tolerance in its value. You would like this resistor to consume at most 2 W of power, otherwise it might burn. What is the highest power supply in V you would use to power it
A binary symmetric channel has an error probability of 0.005. How many of these channels can be cascaded before the overall error probability exceeds 0.1?
Who oversees the working condition of airline baggage handlers?
Who is third to the left of Dhinesh?
An unknown semiconductor has Eg = 1.1 eV and Nc = Nv. It is doped with 10^15 cm^-3 donors where the donor level is 0.2 eV below Ec. Given that Ef is 0.25 eV below Ec, calculate ni and the concentration of electrons and holes in the semiconductor ..
Derive the state diagram for an FSM that has an input w and an output z. The machine has to generate z = 1 when the previous four values of w were 1001 or 1111; otherwise, z = 0. Overlapping input patterns are allowed.
Develop a set of EC metrics and discuss how these metrics differ from that of the existing manual system.
