A voltage source of 240V rms is connected to two elements in parallel. The first element has an impedence of 1+j3. The second element has an impedence of 4-j3. Determine the power consumed by the two elements, determine the current leaving the source, determine the power factor and specify leading or lagging. Also, determine the size of the capacitor (in kVARs) needed to bring the power factor to 1 if connected in parallel with the existing circuit.
