Question: Figure shows a plate with mass m = 2000 kg that is supported by four identical columns that are cantilevered from the ground. Each column has length l = 2 m and a square cross section with side dimension b = 75 mm. The columns are made from steel with modulus of elasticity of E = 210 GPa. The plate is attached to the tops of the columns with pin connections.

Tasks: (a) Develop the plate's EOM in the horizontal direction, using X to define its position.

(b) Determine the plate's natural frequency.
