Determine the number of pumps needed and locations of well points. A pump test was conducted to evaluate hydrogeological information of the site, the hydraulic properties of soil and radius of influence. A fully penetrating well points with well radius of 3" was constructed and then another monitoring well was dug at a distance 50' from the center of the well. Both wells were 60' deep when both encountered tight formation of negligible permeability. Both well showed a static water-table of 10' below the surface. A well pump withdrawing 10 ft3/min resulted in drawdowns of 30' and 10' respectively at the well and monitoring location. Now you are supposed to use the above data to design a dewatering system for above the site. A building of footprint of 200'x200' to be constructed and requires 25' of depth without water to construct a basement. Assuming you have several well pumps withdrawing 10 ft3/min, Note that if you do not have symmetrical well arrangement, you need to plot contours within the building footprint show your design is acceptable for dewatering.
Suppose you are told that a process must achieve a 2.7 log removal of Giardia cysts. What does that mean in terms of % remaining and % removal
A lab test for specific gravity, G, on two samples of lumber indicate that sample A has G= 0.4 and sample B has G= 0.9. Based on this information alone, which wood sample would you choose as a structural member for your construction project
A two-bed carbon adsorption system is to be designed to handle 8000 acfm of air containing 700 ppm of hexane. Laboratory studies indicate that carbon can adsorb 8lb hexane per 100 lb carbon under the conditions
