A fire hose needs to deliver 25 L/s of water to a maximum height of 50 m above ground level. (a) Find the stagnation pressure (in Pa gauge) at the nozzle inlet: (i) if friction losses can be neglected, (ii) if the specific energy loss due to friction is 25 J/kg. (b) Determine the nozzle diameter for the second case, assuming that all friction losses occur outside the nozzle and neglect the small difference in elevation between the nozzle inlet and exit.
