A playground Merry-Go-Round has a mass of 291 kg which can be viewed as being uniformly distributed over a disk of radius 2.4 m. The Merry-Go-Round is initially rotating at a rate of 0.6 rev/s. A 30 kg child then jumps on the rim without applying any tangential force. What is the new rotation rate assuming the child remains at the rim. Ignore frictional forces. Your answer should be given in rev/s to 3 decimal places.
